MDCAT aspirants you have got one more month added to your clock as national MDCAT will now be held on 29th November 2020.

Yes, you heard that right.

We know that you can highly relate to this meme and we are in this with you.

But GOD has other plans. Sadly!

So hold your horses till then.  

MDCAT which was previously conducted for years by University of Health Sciences (UHS) will now be held under the supervision of the National University of Medical Sciences according to the direction of Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC).

As stated by PMC, “all public or private colleges including all government notified quota seats will be subject to passing of the compulsory MDCAT exam”

Eligibility Criteria:

• 1) Student must get 60^% marks in MDCAT to be eligible for the admission in the private and public medical/dental colleges.
• 2) Admission in all public and private sector medical/dental colleges will be based on your aggregate scores in National MDCAT. 
• 3) Along with that, students who are planning to take admission in Agha Khan University will give Agha Khan Medical Entry Test along with the mandatory passing of the MDCAT. 
• 4) 50% weightage will be given to MDCAT and 50% to FSc/Alevels.

• Which books to study from?
  A lot of students are confused about the syllabus. Note that the MDCAT exam will come from the common topics of FSc books according to the already provided syllabus by each provincial board, therefore, stick to the FSc books only. In addition to that, examiner will not ask any question outside of the common topics of the syllabus and to ensure this, PMC will be appointing special committee. 

• Will the syllabus be updated? 

• PMC will issue no new syllabus. Therefore, sit back and only study according to the syllabus that you were using before. For example, Punjab students will follow the syllabus provided by UHS, Sindh students will follow the syllabus that was issued by Sindh board and same criteria for other boards. 

• Will Sindh Entry Test be conducted?
• According to the updates, Sindh High court has postponed Sindh Entry test that was scheduled on 18th oct 2020. Therefore, all the Sindh students that were confused and worried about the exam, can now relax as the entry test is not going to be held on 18th Oct 2020. 

• • Yes, NUMS will take their own NUMS Entry Test, and it will be conducted on 11th Oct 2020. Point here to note is that if you want to apply in all NUMS affiliated public and private sector medical/dental colleges, then you need to give NUMS Entry Test (11th Oct 2020) along with National MDCAT.

  • Note: For NUMS Entry Test (11th oct 2020), follow the complete NUMS syllabus, including additional topics. 

• Admission Timeline:

Admissions of medical/dental colleges in all the provinces will be held on merit basis in between November and December.
