The number of registered medical seats:
A total of 3,405 registered medical seats are available in the public sector/government medical colleges of Punjab, which include open merit seats and reserved seats.
The number of open merit seats in Public sector medical colleges all over Punjab is 3022. The admission against these seats is given only to the students having domicile of Punjab province. Every year 60-70 thousand students take MDCAT in order to secure one of these open merit seats in government colleges. The distribution of these open merit seats is as follows:
1. King Edward Medical University, KEMU: 302
2. Allama Iqbal Medical College, AIMC: 301
3. Nishtar Medical University, NMU: 280
4. Fatima Jinnah Medical University, FJMU: 206
5. Services Institute of Medical Sciences, SIMS: 191
6. Faisalabad Medical University, FMU: 287
7. Rawalpindi Medical College, RMC: 297
8. Quaid-e-Azam Medical College, QAMC: 273
9. Sheikh Zayed Medical College, SZMC: 126
10. Sargodha Medical College, SMC: 79
11. Nawaz Sharif Medical College, NSMC: 90
12. Sahiwal Medical College, SLMC: 100
13. Gujranwala Medical College, GMC: 100
14. Ghazi Khan Medical College, GKMC: 100
15. Khwaja Muhammad Safdar Medical College, KMSMC: 100
16. Ameer ud din Medical College, AMC: 100
17. Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Medical & Dental College, SKZ MDC: 90
A total of 19 seats are reserved for special candidates. These seats are available in the following medical institutes:

The Chief Minister Punjab has approved reservation of one seat for MBBS
Course, for Cholistan students at Sheikh Zayed Medical
College, Rahim Yar Khan, out of its current allocation on open merit basis.

5. Bhakkar
6. Layyah
49 seats are reserved for candidates belonging to underdeveloped districts in medical colleges of Punjab, the distribution of which is given below
a. NMU: 18
b. FMU: 10
c. QAMC: 6
d. SZMC: 15
Seven seats are reserved for Federally Administrated Tribal areas in the public sector medical colleges of Punjab, the details of which are as follows:
a. KEMU: 01
b. AIMC: 01
c. NMU: 01
d. FJMU: 01
e. FMU: 01
f. RMU: 01
g. QAMC: 01
Out of 300 seats of Fatima Jinnah Medical University Lahore, the share of Federal Government is 67. However, twenty seats (out of 67 seats for Federal Govt) for Punjab candidates are included in 206 open merit seats of Fatima Jinnah Medical University Lahore.
Apart from 3022 open merit seats, 36 seats are reserved for students belonging to Azad Jammu Kashmir in public sector medical colleges of Pakistan, the distribution of which is as follows
a. KEMU: 01
b. AIMC: 01
c. NMU: 04
d. FJMU: 13
e. SIMS: 2
f: FMU: 4
g. RMU: 5
h. QAMC: 4

The number of seats reserved for students belonging to Gilgit Baltistan is fifty-five. The distribution of these seats is given as follows:

-FMU: 2
-RMU: 9
-QAMC: 18
-SZMC: 2
A total of 72 seats are reserved for foreign students/students having dual nationality under Pakistan Technical Assistance Programme, in the public sector government colleges across the province. These seats are distributed as follows:
-KEMU: 5
-AIMC: 5
-NMU: 10
-FJMU: 21
-FMU: 10
-RMU: 10
-QAMC: 11
Again 72 seats are reserved for these candidates in government medical colleges of Punjab. These seats are distributed as follows:

A total of twenty Goodwill seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the province of Punjab, in public sector medical colleges across Punjab:
