Under the new marks improvement policy announced by the Punjab Board of Curriculum and Examinations (PBCC) for matriculation and intermediate examinations, candidates are now allowed to enhance their scores in up to four attempts within a two-year period after passing their exams.

Here are the key points of this policy:

1. Candidates have the flexibility to improve their marks in any subject of their choice, whether it's from part 1 or part 2 of the curriculum.

2. It's not compulsory to attempt both parts of a subject in the improvement exam. For example, if a candidate wishes to boost their Chemistry Part 1 marks, they can solely take the Chemistry Part 1 exam.

3. During the improvement tenure, candidates will not be eligible for admission to higher degree programs.

4. There are four options for applying for marks improvement:

a. Complete Part 1

b. Complete Part 2

c. Both Part 1 & Part 2

d. Subject-wise

In the subject-wise option, students have the flexibility to improve their scores in subjects of their choice, whether they are from both parts 1 and 2 or just a single part. To clarify further, if a candidate aims to enhance their Chemistry marks from Part 1, they will only need to take the Part 1 Chemistry exam. The requirement to attempt Part 2 is not mandatory for subjects chosen in this manner.
